The "COAS Trophy 2080", a competitive sports fiesta, kicked off at the Sports Arena of Nepali Army (NA) HQs on October 05, 2023. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma inaugurated the sports meet amidst a special function. 

Director General of Military Training (DGMT), Major General Santosh Kumar Dhakal delivered the welcome speech during the opening ceremony, followed by a spectacular March Past by the participating teams.

Fourteen teams of the Nepali Army, including Divisions and Brigades, are competing for the "COAS Trophy 2080". The sports fiesta includes events like Archery, Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Shooting, Swimming, Taekwondo and Volleyball. 

Secretary of Ministry of Youth & Sports, Former Chiefs of the Army Staff, General Officers of NA, Officials of the National Sports Council (NSC), President and Officials of the Nepali Army Wives Association (NAWA), Residential Military Attaché, Representative of other Security Agencies, Officers and Other Ranks of NA and Media Personnel were present on the occasion.

COAS Trophy was first introduced in 2065 B.S., aiming to enhance esprit de corps among the participating units and produce quality athletes, sportsmen, and women who can represent the Nepali Army in national and international events.
