The fourth edition of the ‘COAS Int'l Tri-Adventure Competition-2076’, a one-day event, was organized by the Nepali Army on March 20, 2021. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The fun-filled team competition included three
events: running (6.7 km), cycling (26 km) and rafting (11 km) - totaling a distance
of 43.7 km. A total of 20 teams participated in the event including 16 National
teams (12 male teams and 4 female teams) and 4 International teams. Each
registered team included four team members.
In the Men's Category, Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC)
Team ‘A’ finished first with a timing of 2 hours 34 minutes and 34 seconds. TAC
Team ‘B’ stood second by completing the race in 2 hours 40 minutes and 59
seconds ahead of Armed Police Forces Nepal Team, which grabbed the third
position with a timing of 2 hours 45 minutes and 16 seconds.
In the Women's Category, TAC grabbed the first
position with a timing of 3 hours 09 minutes and 58 seconds. Paddle Nepal stood
second by completing the race in 3 hours 26 minutes and 45 seconds ahead of Crank
Sisters Team, which grabbed the third position with timing of 4 hours 04
minutes and 27 seconds.
Pakistani Army Team was adjudged the 'Best
International Team'.
COAS General Thapa handed over the winner’s
trophy, individual medallions and a cash prize to all the winners. Likewise, he
also handed over the 'Certificates of Appreciation' to the organizers.
The Tri-Adventure Competition started from
Baireni to end at the banks of Trisuli River at Charundi where the closing
ceremony of the event took place.
Present on the occasion were General officers of
Nepali Army, representative of government and non-government organizations,
media persons, all ranks of Nepali Army and enthusiastic sports lovers.
