Zambia Army Commander Wraps Up Nepal Visit

The visiting Lieutenant General Paul Mihova, DFS psc plsc PM, Commander of Zambia Army concluded his Nepal Visit and returned back on January 09, 2018. Director General of Military Intelligence (DGMI) Maj Gen Jagadish Chandra Pokharel bade farewell to Lt Gen Mihova at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Lt Gen Mihova arrived in Kathmandu on January 03, 2018 at an official invitation extended by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri. This is the first occasion any Army Chiefs from the African countries has officially visited Nepal.

During his stay in Nepal, Lt Gen Mihova had paid a courtesy call on Right Honourable President Mrs Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Right Honourable Prime Minister Mr Sher Bahadur Deuba and Honourable Minister of Defence Mr Bhimsen Das Pradhan in three separate meetings. He also met his Nepali Counterpart COAS Gen Rajendra Chhetri at Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali.

Lt Gen Mihova visited famous tourist spots including Pokhara and Chitwan National Park besides had inspection visits to the Army Command and Staff College (ACSC), Shivapuri, the Nepali Military Academy (NMA), Kharipati and Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre (BPOTC), Panchkhal.

Nepali Army believes, this kind of visit will help to further cement the friendship between Nepal and Zambia. Such high-level exchange of visits will help to deepen and expand the bilateral relations between the two armies.
